1. show your kid respect if you expect them to respect you.
2. parenthood comes with no strings attached.
3. a bad day doesn't mean you're a bad parent or that you have a bad kid.
4. don't belittle your child. treat them and speak to them how you'd like to be treated.
5. don't compete with other parents or arbitrary milestones. also, don't brag.
6. play hard. be silly. get dirty. make a mess.
7. be the example. be who you want them to be.
8. embrace their individuality so that one day, when they realize how unique they are, they'll appreciate it, too.
9. kids are going to make mistakes. let them. then, help them recover.
10. tell your child that you love them every single day.
