"Can you taste this drink and tell me if it's strong... cause I can't tell anymore."-CY

I'm aware that I am very late on this post- I've been insane busy with my new job (yay!)- and I apologize for that. I do, however, live by the motto 'better late than never'.

As I anxiously stated last week, I spent the last weekend fitting about six days worth of vacation into a four day window. Not kidding: I drove over 600 miles in four days. I went to South Carolina to visit my friend Heather; who by the way is as amazing as I imagined. She was such a generous host and so fabulous. xxoo HW!!

I was a country girl (rather, I pretended to be) who drank homemade peach brandy, smoked Cuban's (the cigars, not the people), went thrifting (bought an end table for 11 bucks. score!!) and ate Alaskan Snow King crab legs. Just thinking about what I'm about to tell you pains me: On top of everything else, I found a beer- Moonstone Stout to be exact- in Ashville at the Lobster Trap that made me forget about Guinness, if only for one second. It was amazingly delicious.

This past weekend was exactly what I needed. It was nice to just get away from the bullshit of everyday life. This weekend did a lot of things for me: it gave me a chance to clear my mind and my lungs (minus the cigar, I'm talking about the pollution of living in the city); get to know someone new and not have the baggage of my past holding me back; and take the time to really think about what and who I want to be important in my life. I believe that we each have control over who we let have a claim in our lives. It's a liberating feeling to have that control, even if it is minute in the whole scheme of things.

I haven't gotten it all figured out but it's a work in progress. It's just nice to know that I have somewhere to go when I need an escape plan.

Story of my life.
This was my only alcoholic beverage of the night. Stop laughing.

So classy, I can't even begin to describe it.
Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed smoking the cigar.

The adorable Heather and me at a fantastic jazz club in downtown Ashville. Her boyfriend was a doll, too.
We canoed to a beach and ate guacamole and drank two bottles of wine. We have our priorities. Don't judge us.

Apparently, I think I'm cool. I at least made Heather laugh. At me.

favorite post thus far. I assume you are being sarcastic when you labeled the beer photo as your only alcoholic bev of the night, since it definitely was not the case. I thoroughly enjoyed your stay & I hope for many more in the future. We've got a guaranteed visit coming soon once you move into your new digs since I'm holding furniture hostage for you. xoxo

And sarcasm I hope was obvious, especially given the title of the post.
