when i was pregnant, i finally started paying attention to labels. and not the kind you're thinking of, but rather, what was in the products that i use on a daily basis. i began an obsession with researching and learning about what was in my medicine and beauty cabinet and what being 'natural' really meant.
and to be honest, my beauty cabinet still needs some serious work. it's proven pretty difficult to find products that measure up to my tried and true regimen. and more than that, i can't stomach throwing something away without completely using it all first. make-up is expensive, y'all!
for mama:
| klorane peony shampoo | new chapter pre-natal whole-mega supplements | weleda gentle cleansing milk | weleda skin food | klorane chamomile conditioner | bkr 16 oz water bottle | josie maran lip and cheek marker | real food for mother and baby by nina planck | new chapter perfect prenatal multi-vitamin |for marlo:
even more important to me than what is in the products that i personally use, i am some what fanatical about what i use on marlo's perfect, clean-slate skin. of course, as she's gotten older, we've changed things up a bit: we switched from the life factory bottle to the nine ounce sippy cup attachment once she weaned. and, obviously, she's no longer swaddled at night but she still sleeps with one (or two!) of those beautiful muslin blankets.
(*also, i know that kiehl's isn't 'natural.' but i've tried a lot of stuff and it works really well for dry, yet sensitive baby skin. in the winter months, i also use organic virgin coconut oil on marlo's skin- and on mine, too! it's inexpensive, 100% natural, and keeps her skin moisturized in spite of the dry, windy weather that we experience here in nyc.)
| mustela facial wipes | dr bronner's pure castile soap | mustela 50+ mineral sunscreen | ergo organic carrier | aden + anais bamboo swaddles | weleda calendula diaper care | the honest company diapers | kiehl's since 1851 baby cream for face and body | life factory 4 oz glass bottles |
