so we're back from vacation. between the five couples and seven children under one roof, seemingly endless rain, constantly removing sand from marlo's mouth, the three sadistic little molars that decided to grace us with their presence, and the copious amounts of carbs and wine i consumed, i feel like i need a vacation from our vacation. i've said it before and i'll say it again that traveling with a toddler isn't a vacation, it's just a change of scenery.
but, i do have faint tan lines and the freckles on my nose and shoulders have reappeared, so there's that. freckles squash everything, in my humble opinion. and a week at the beach is still a week at the beach... am i right?
and i can't say that the city changed much while we were gone; it's just as hot, just as soupy, and just as stinky. god, it's so stinky. i think i got tremendously spoiled on the salty and heavy tree-populated air in kiawah. even in spite of the stench, it's always good to be home cooking in my own kitchen, sleeping in my own bed, and getting back to our routine. routine is good. normal is good.
and, so, we're back.
happy hump day, y'all.
and yes, the virtual southern accent remains.
sorry, i'm not sorry.

Traveling with toddlers is the worst :( They are terrible at adjusting, travel just makes an already difficult toddler more difficult. We took Ramona to Kauai with us when she was 15 months old; sand everywhere. I totally feel you, and hope you can find time to recoup. Try to take a vacation with just your husband, it's so good for everyone!
