I'd be so proud if...

When speaking about children and homosexuality, Carl Paladino, Republican candidate for govenor of New York, made this statement:

"I don't want them to be brainwashed into thinking that

homosexuality is an equally valid or successful option."

He later apologized and admitted that maybe, just maybe, he should've "chosen better words".

Hmmmm. Well, then...

I think it may be too easy... however, I just can't resist. Instead of fearing that my future offspring may think that homosexuality is an okay or "valid or successful" option for them, I'm terrified that they'll hear, see, and look up to bigots like this asshole and be brainwashed into thinking that saying homophobic and disgusting comments like the former, are acceptable ways of thinking. Or even more importantly, that saying things like this will help you win elections, get you ahead, or achieve a higher status in our country. I'm terrified that my children may be this close-minded and that they'll find like-minded people to bond with over such issues.

Dear my future spawns,
If you are gay, I will love you just the same if not more for being strong and proud of who you are and trusting that I will accept you for exactly who you are. If you are a bigot, racist, sexist, masochist, or just a close-minded person in general, I will disown you. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
